One of my gracious readers pointed out to me that he received an error when trying to comment on my LTD article. The CAPTCHA image was not showing up because I was exceeding my disk quota. I've resolved the issue and now you should be able to comment on my articles again. Please let me know if you encounter any additional problems!

Are you really serious? You seriously need to get a LIFE...what is the point of you down grading this? Most people including myself have grown up very poor. What is the problem of wanting to better yourself to give your family something you never had. I work 40 hrs. a week making almost min. wage and I bust my butt everyday just barely making it by. So excuse me for wanting to do better with my life!!!!! Since you are so worried about greed maybe you need to experiance poverty where there is no greed you just worry about day to day stuff, will my children have something to eat that night? will there beds be warm and dry? will there be enough money for the bills this week. Once you experiance this and then tell me you still think this is still about Greed then you need some serious HELP!!!!!

A few things to consider ...

The most lasting and important gift you can give your family is not a roof over their heads, a comfortable bed to sleep in, or food on the table. Rather, the only lasting gift is a knowledge and understanding of God's Word. Spending time with your family is also important. There are many families that have loads of cash and are providing their kids with all the things they could ever want. But that often comes at a sacrifice of time and instruction in God's word.

Jesus was born in a stable full of animals and was placed in a manger. He deserved far better. Are you familiar with the Christmas story? I'd love to share more about it with you if you're interested ...

In Philippians 2, Paul describes Jesus' humility: Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Later in Philippians, Paul demonstrates a similar sort of humility:

I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Perhaps this time of difficulty for you and your family is one that you can entrust to the hands of a God who knows your situation and who died on a cross for your sins. I would encourage you to ask God to learn the sort of contentment that Paul talks about.
